Dr. Zhiming Cai holds Doctoral Degrees in both Medicine and Management, he is currently appointed as Professor and Chief physician at Department of Urological Surgery in the First Affiliated Hospital of Shenzhen University / Shenzhen Second People's Hospital. Dr. Cai is also appointed as Distinguished Professor at National Cancer Institute (NCI) of the United States. He is the chief scientist of the National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program), and serves as an evaluation expert for ‘1000 Talents Recruitment Program’ as well as ‘Cheung Kong scholars program’. Dr. Cai has been honored as an expert with State Department special allowance, a national leading talent and a Pengcheng outstanding talent. He has also earned the “National Labor Medal of China”, “Excellent Hospital President of China” and “Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Mayor's Award”. Dr. Cai has published approximately 100 articles in high-impact journals, such as Nature, Nature Genetics. His primary research focus is on cancer genomics & systems biology of genitourinary system, and mechanisms of synthetic biological intervention in bladder cancer.
